Noosa

Noosa is located in the south-eastern part of Queensland. Although Captain Cook (first white-settler in Australia in 1778) sailed past Noosa Heads in May 1770, around 8 years prior to Sydney being settled, it wasn't until the mid 1800s that Noosa's first white settlers came along.

The word Noosa comes from the Aboriginal word for shadey place. It's a beautiful part of the World, and I think if you compared to other beaches in the Sunshine Coast area, for me, it was by far the best one. I found Maroochydore for example to be far too exposed, windy and not as scenic due to the many high rises dotted along the coastline. Noosa doesn't have high rises, and for me, it's a lot more pleasant.

Noosa's native forests still exist also. A nice walk into the heads is a must!
