Manchester Village Inn: Manch. Village Inn used to be Econolodge Econo Lodge Manchester Review

Unique Qualities: The only hotel/motel in the center of Manchester, this was a privately owned independent called the Manchester Village Motor Inn for years. Then it became an Econolodge for a year or two, then it went back to being the Manchester Village Inn. Closest one to the hospital, St. James Catholic Church, and Center Congregational Church. Right around the corner from the little shops of downtown, but only walk if you have the stamina to walk back UP Main St. to get back!

Directions: Right in the center of town. Take I-384 East to Exit 3 (Main St.). Go right up to the top of the hill, just past the library on the left, to where you see a classic white New England Congregational Church in front of you & turn right on E. Center St.

Unique Qualities: Almost next to the Courtyard by Marriott, with only TGIFridays Restaurant inbetween. Outback Steakhouse across the street. Other stores & Hometown Buffet in plaza behind Outback. Another small plaza of stores right down the driveway. This place has a weird driveway, tho'--no good way to swing around to pull up to the curb by the main door the way most hotels have a U or circular drive that makes it easy to pull right up to the front door, check in, & then continue driving right out. I suppose you could pull up to the curb facing the wrong way (i.e. driver's side to the curb).

Unique Qualities: Prices actually cross 2 of the categories here, running about $68-$90. This hotel is right next to the mall parking lot, so you could definitely walk to it, but watch out crossing the drive that goes around the outer edge of the mall parking lot! Being in the heart of the mall area, there's way too much nearby by car to list everything.

Clarion Suites Manchester: Clarion Suites conveniently located to hiways Clarion Suites Manchester Review

Unique Qualities: Conveniently located to I-84, I-384, and I-291. Only about 15 min. to Hartford. Walking distance to a Friendly Restaurant & a Starbucks Coffee (the driveway goes right by them). Grocery store & liquor store across the street. Wendy's right next to the grocery store plaza. I believe there's also a Chinese take-out and video rental store in that plaza. There's also a farm stand right down the side street (Hillstown Rd.) that's across from the hotel driveway. Closest hotel to Manchester Community College.

I have had relatives stay here, & the suites are very nice; they've been very satisfied with their accomodations & have often stayed here again when visiting.

Unique Qualities: Near the Mall area, but far enough to not be in the middle of the congestion. One of the many newer hotels in the area. Not much within walking distance except the Exxon station, which is 24-hr, & has a tiny convenience store, and maybe the Roy Rogers down the street. This side of the mall development is about 1/4 mi. down Rte. 30, with McDonald's, Unos Pizzeria, Walgreens (not 24-hr) etc., but it's a high traffic area including a highway exit/entrance, so walking is risky. Going down Rte. 30 about 1/4 mi. the other way (towards Vernon), there is a Big Y grocery store that I believe is 24-hr Mon-Fri; again high-traffic during the day for walking, but manageable with care.

Unique Qualities: Right in back of a Roy Rogers restaurant (you could DEFINITELY walk to it--in fact it would be silly to drive to it!). It's your basic, park-in-front-of-your-door motel. Has been a privately owned independent (used to be the Connecticut Motor Lodge) for years, and has always looked kept up & clean.
