No question Tower Bridge is a must see for everybody going to London for the first time! :) Include it in a walk together with the City Hall or with the Tower itself. Visits inside the Tower Bridge (exposition and view from above) are also possible.

Once visiting the Tower Bridge you might get as lucky as we were and see the Bridge opening! It is truly an amazing thing to see this huge structure move up and down...perfect engineering work! :)

British Museum: British Museum - astonishing rich expositions

The British Museum is a must see for all London visitors, even if you stay for a shorter period, you won't be able to see it all. But still, you can get a good impression! :) First just walk around, see the cupola and the library of course. Just walk in to the left and to the right hand side of the cental part of the building (library) and be amazed! :) The entrance is free, even though there might be some fee for special expositions.

The British Museum's most astonishing part in my opinion (not cvounting maybe the cupola :) is the library. Just sit in for a while and enjoy the atmosphere of this huge circle "room".

If you face the library entrance, go to the right hand side wing and check the Aztec masks made of turquoise mosaics. Amazing!

The famous Rosetta stone, which made possible the decipher the hieroglyphs. It has writing on it in two languages (Egyptian and Greek), using three scripts (hieroglyphic, demotic and Greek). Amazing again! :) When facing the library, go to the left hand side wing. Don't forget to see also the mummys and statues of the ancient Egypt, Greece, etc.

Things To Do: London Eye - fly above the city :)

The British Airways London Eye offers the greatest view of London, and definitely the best view of the Parliament and the Big Ben. I couldn't get in in 2000 (way too many people), but now it's a little better and in off peak seasons, like nov in November you might get as lucky as we were: we got to our cabin in less then 10 minutes. The "flight" takes about 30 minutes, and all of them are worth to live through! :) Tickets are for sale (11.50 for an adult, 9 for senior citizens above 60 and for students...) and you can also book online (the ticket office is inside the County Hall, the building just in front of the Eye). From October until December the opening times are: 9:30am-8:00pm daily.

Want a picture of yourself in your London Eye cabin from outside? You can buy one for about 8-10 pounds after your "flight". Just make sure that after the Eye shot announcement (when going down they will announce this possibility) you stand on the right spot and give a nice smile to the camera! :)

Picadilly Circus is all about marketing. The advertisments on the walls say it all: consume! But Picadilly, being on the edge of the Soho is also a meeting place for the night-goers of London.
