Half a day in Kanazawa

Kanazawa doesn't appear on too many standard itineraries for a two week tour of Japan, but as we were heading up in this direction anyway there were a couple of things that sounded too good to miss.

After spending some time looking at temples in Kyoto Kanazawa came as a refreshing change (quite literally as it was snowing in March, brrrr). The things we had come to see here were the Shima Geisha House and Terashima Samurai House. With only half a day here we did not have time for the famous Kenroku-en gardens that are rated among the top three in Japan or the Ninja-dera the Ninja Temple, but with a whole day it would be easy to add these in. Walking it all is also quite reasonable and don't miss the clock on the way out of the station ;-)
