I visited Phi Phi Islands from Krabi. I was there for 3 days and did two dives in Phi Phi Lay. It was December 06 and in peak seasons where a lot of visitors coming to the island. The accommodation was tight and a lot of places, mainly backpackers places were full at 11am when my ferry docked at the pier. So you should make reservations thorugh one of the agencies prior to your arrival. The prices of the accommodation may be the same when you walk in the hotel.

I visited Phi Phi once before in 1994, but this time I could apprecaite more by doing diving with nice weather.
