Low's Peak, Mt Kinabalu, World Heritage site Being the first visitor reaching the Low's peak of the highest mountain, the Mount Kinabalu (4092m) on 1st November 2005, in South East Asia was one of the highlights of my recent travelling trips. The scenery was so amazed with the sea of clouds, although the sunrise was not that spectacular as I expected.
The achievement of reaching the peak may be a bonus, but the effort, endurance, and determination during the climb and hike were far more important. We learn no matter how difficult we face in the trails ahead, life still goes on and we have to overcome it.
Low's Peak is situate in the western plateau of Mt Kinabalu, where can be reached following the standard summit trail. There are several peaks in this plateau such as St. John's and South Peak, that can be climbed.
See travelogue for side trip to Mt.Kinabalu.
KK city and surrounding around has so much to offer. You need at least 6 days in KK region. If you want to dive in the East Sabah or see other wildlife and rainforests, be sure you have another 7-10 days.
I like Sabah and I will go back to East Sabah. |
| | Canopy walkway, Poring Hot Springs A series of boardwalks suspended 60m above the ground. |
| | White Water Rafting in Padas River A day trip form KK to do rafting in a Grade 3-4 Padas River is a good relax after a hike to Mt. Kinabalu. |
