"Multiple Colors in the "Death" Desert" Death Valley National Park by Trekki

Death Valley National Park Travel Guide: 896 reviews and 1,904 photos

Death Valley – the name appears as if it’s a place without life, destroyed and dry.
But - although Death Valley is the driest place in the US, with an average rainfall of 2 inches / year, water presence is obvious in nearly every spot.
Flowers bloom during spring, badwater excites with it’s reflections, hundreds of little springs (entspringen) here and there. It is said that nearly 1000 different plant species are living in Death Valley.
And in terms of geology – it’s a wonderland showcase - badlands mix with rugged canyons and sand dunes, bridges have been formed by erosion – and all that in all different colors, earth can produce.

Dicing with death; in a valley so dry; so watch where you park; and your rear end won't fry!

Beautiful mountain landscapes! I've never seen such lifeless and deprived vegetation squares... I used to see mountains of another sort in the Caucasus. I consider nothing to be more wonderful than tops in snow and ice! Thanks for virtual travel, Ingrid!

Fabulous pictures! I seem to have heard a lot about the place but I've never made it there.
