Restaurant Name: Estragon Café Brasserie
Ahhh what is better than a cold beer or white wine and some very delicious food after a long walk along the banks of Rhine river, or a bike tour - or just if you like to eat something very good :-)
Estragon is quite popular among the locals, as it has huge space, without being perceived as a big restaurant. There is space inside, and outside in the beer garden, and on the terrace, and with trees and plants and all, you never have the feeling that you sit in the crowds.
On the website, you can have a look at the place (I did not take pics of the surroundings) - if you click on Fotos (hahaha, sorry, but they don't have an english version).
They serve different menues for lunch, and have an additional menue for the beer garden.
Their menues cover bavarian dishes (like "Obatzda"), palatine dishes (the famous "Handkäs mit Musik", or "Weißer Käs") and very delicious specialities from L'Alsace, like the famous Flammkuchen, or Quiche Lorraine.
Inside, you can even select among much more meals, french style, they even have Galettes.
Extensive deserts, and also vegetarian meals.
It is a bit tricky to find this wonderful place, so I include a screenshot from Via Michelin.
Pack insect repellent - sorry - it is situated directly in the Rhine meads, so mosquitoes love the place too, but for other reasons :-)
Favorite Dish: Ahh, as I could die for Flammkuchen, I had it nearly everytime (I know this is boring, but they cook very well). Flammkuchen is available either as the original with onions, ham and creamy sauce, or in several other kinds, e.g. with tomatoes and feta cheese.
Flammkuchen: from 5,90 € - 6,30 € .
They also serve a wonderful mouthwatering feta cheese, grilled in the oven (4,40 €).
Water: 1,90 € (0,25 l), 3,70 € (0,75 l)
Apple juice spritzer: 2,10 € (0,4 l)
Beer: 2,10 € (0,3 l), 5,40 € (Mass = 1 l)
Wine: 2,40 e (0,2 l), 5,60 € (0,5 l)
