"Fanlo - beautiful southern Pyrenées village" Fanlo del Valle de Vío by Trekki

The southern part of Pyrenées in Spain is a lovely landscape, stamped by the rivers which have their spring in the high mountains.
During my trip from Bielsa to Valle de Ordesa, I took not the main road via Ainsa, but turned west (right) at Laspuña (road HU 631), and went via Valle de Añisclo to Sarvise. What a reward !!
First, Valle de Añisclo has a beautiful, almost out of this world canyon, deep cut by the Rio Vellos into the magic landscape (sorry, only 1 picture – I must have been too stunned to take more :-)).
Then, after leaving the canyon at Molino de Aso (with a big parking area for the hikers into the valle), the road winds up to lead along the tiny mountain villages of Valle Añisclo:
Nerín, Sercué, Buisán and finally Fanlo.
Along the road in may, all wildflowers are in bloom, the smell is extraordinary, and, as soon as you are out of PN de Ordesa (which is only along the canyon of Rio Vellos), you can even pick wild tyme.
Fanlo itself is just too beautiful to be missed :-)
.
My stay in Fanlo was part of my Pyenées trip (May 2006):
1. Gavarnie in France,
2. Valle de Pineta (northwest of spanish Bielsa) (not yet completed),
3. Canyon de Anisclo and the beautiful town of Fanlo (this page),
4. Valle de Ordesa , also not yet completed.

I see it's a wonderful place to visit! ><><><><
Such gorgeous scenery, Ingrid! I'm impressed you spent your time in a tent...it looks like you encountered some stunning views as you traveled around this area.
Hmm, I'm imagining sitting at the Bar las Eras, sipping a cold beer, smelling the aromatic thyme, and seeing old gnarled trees. It seems this area is a sensory feast!
So iviting page with those charming cottages. May be one day...
Such cute country cottages... even the chimneys are charming :~)
there are still chances for me to experience your pages that i havent seen yet, although now, it is rarer! the region looks stunning, and your photos are brilliant in showing it! x
Aaaaaah....... I wanna go here!! It looks so wonderful! I can just imagine hiking here: the old village, the crooked tree, the old farmhouse door and of course the smell of wild thyme! Hihi, wish I could hop on a plane right now and go see it all! :-))
Now this looks my sort of place. I can almost smell that thyme.......
What a delight to read and to view. The old farm, old church, the washhouse..the scenery..awe, just beautiful. Your photographs are dynamic.
What stories that bar could tell.
