Already before my trip to Sweden’s Kingdom of Crystal I fell in love with Bergdala’s blåkant (= blue rim) glassware. So it was most natural that I would come to watch the workers doing their wonders with the melted glass. Moreover, I was happy to see that the former workers’ houses have been transformed in a so-called wärdshus, a place to stay for visitors. And the owners, Monica and Klas Nystrand also operate a little restaurant here. That’s why I have decided to stay here for my entire visit to the glass factories around Växjo. And I can only highly recommend this. It must be gorgeous in winter, when they open the Christmas market with glögg and handmade things from the surroundings. Of course also glass.

Pros and Cons

Pros:In the middle of the forests, very quiet and relaxing, close to the glass works
Cons:It is a bit of driving back and forth when one wants to visit other glass factories
In a nutshell:Well worth a longer stay - just heavenly :)

Aaah, now I see what you mean with Blå Kant! They look wonderful! And I am not surprised that milk and cereal taste better in the morning from these :-)))
