wonderful sculpture - in the middle of town

Raquíra is a small village, some 20 km north of Villa de Leyva, and it's nation wide known for its exquisite pottery.

The whole town is more like a museum, as there are pottery decoration all and everywhere.

The one in the picture is part of a little park, in the town center.

BUT:
beware of your wallet - not because of thieves, but simply because of the wonderful variety of things to buy.

I'm not a big shopper, but otherwise this looks like a nice little place. I could always go and have a chat with Mr. Pottery, even though he doesn't look like much of a conversationalist.

Lovely village which is famous for its exquisite pottery. I didn't know it as well that such a place ecxits at another part of the world. Thanks Ingrid I've learnt it now.

Raquira sounds to be a place to visit just before flying home, to get some nice souveniers!
