You dont need to spend thousands of pesos to get to El Nido and spend two nights there. The trick is take the bus from Puerto Princesa and stay on the mainland to save on accommodation cost and just take the island hopping tours offered at either Art Cafe and the one managed by a local association. The latter offers a cheaper rate.
