Iola, KS
Despite being a small town (about 6800) in the middle of nowhere (but 2 to 3 hours from large cities in all directions), we fell in love with Iola when we moved here in 2000! This first picture shows our family (minus me, because I took it) in front of our very favorite restaurant, El Charro.
Beautiful 19th and 20th century homes
If you love to look at homes built in the late 1800s to early 1900s, you'lll really enjoy a drive around Iola. This house happens to be ours; it was built in 1900 and fully restored in 2003. It's downright plain compared to some of the stunning homes in town!
Pros and Cons
- Pros:Small, remote
- Cons:Lots to do and very friendly!
- In a nutshell:Iola is definitely worth a stop!
