yayasan frontage
some of the shops around bandar
are located in unlikely places
frontage facing a dead-end backstreet
however they survive due to pedestrian traffic
catering to the daily needs of kg ayer folks on their way home.
bus terminal to commercial centre
some of the buildings in bandar are connected by above-street-level walkways
giving occupants and office workers easy and convenient access to the foodcourts in the buildings and access to the multistorey carpark and bus terminal.
useful especially during heavy downpours
was known as arab street
bandar has a few sidewalks that invokes memories of old....
arab street where vendors offered all sorts of stuff
boonpang cinema carpark was the night market of yesteryears
french embassy carpark
the french are in good company....
new hongkong......
dubai......
serviced apartments.....
sports and health club.....
babu's kitchen
four domes view of bsb
the hill behind the radisson hotel offers a different view of bsb.
the "four domes" view offer sight of the white dome of the royal regalia museum, the golden dome of SOAS mosque, the green dome of Kg Tamoi mosque and the golden domes of Istana Nurul Iman in the background.
backstreet to bus terminal
the back streets of bsb behind jalan sultan gives access to multi-storey carparks...
also "hides" a few businesses and restaurants frequented by locals and office workers.
street between brunei hotel n wisma jaya
the side streets of bandar seri begawan are usually one-way streets separating buildings or shophouses lots, and giving access to municipal workers to collect refuse etc. and for loading and unloading of goods...
hence they tend to be ignored....
Makam Di-Luba signboard with bridge acros
Makam Di-Luba is the mouseleum? of the 16th Sultan of Brunei
located across Kg Bunut and Damuan river
boats with tourists on proboscis monkey tours pass by the bridge to the Makam
a quiet spot for fishing, one could catch a croc instead!
Damuan river with Nurul Iman Palace in background
Damuan recreational park is home to a display of sculptures by ASEAN artists
also a popular jogging and walking park amongst locals, and kiddies mini playground
along Tutong road and Damuan river, and right next to the Sultan's palace
used to have a nice seafood restaurant, hopefully the park will be developed further as a tourist spot.
an almost quiet and peaceful place if one ignores the traffic!
