Serasa Ferry Terminal

Kg Serasa is located on the northern-most tip of Brunei, and is the entry point for ferries from neighbouring Labuan Island, Sabah and Sarawak.

Upon arrival, travellers can take a bus or taxi to go to the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Soon, a car ferry will operate from Serasa to Menumbok in Sabah and Labuan Island.

Serasa Beach

Serasa Beach is a popular picnic area for locals during weekends, and the venue for watersports.

The Yacht Club at Serasa Beach is also the meeting place for expatriates working in Brunei.

The "beach" is being "beautified" as a picnic area and eventual development as a tourist spot.

For shutterbugs, Serasa Beach offers a good view across Brunei Bay and the Borneo Highlands. Sunsets can be breathtaking too.

Be prepared to hitch a lift from the locals if you want to get to/from Serasa Beach to Pekan Muara.

Serasa Light Industrial Area

cement anyone?

Serasa Light Industrial Area is the centre of Brunei's garments industry, plus a vehicle assembly plant and cement factory!

Workers come from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and as far away as Bangladesh.

There are plans to develop Pulau Muara Besar (Island), opposite Serasa Light Industrial Area into a petro-chemical complex.
