Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands

by LynCod - last update: Jun 20, 2008

A long way but really worth it

Lemaire Channel (Kodak Gap)
I travelled on board Ms Nordnorge on the Shackleton's Antarctica Reversed voyage. The facilities on board were wonderful and so was the weather, very lucky!

Highlights of the trip, the happy relaxed wildlife and the spectacular scenary, both unspoilt, and great to visit the Falklands a remote outpost of Great Britain.

Antarctica videos are in the South Georgia pages.
Gentoo penguin

Penguins

Gentoo penguins were to be found at our landing sites, very friendly dear little souls. In February the baby penguins are only a few weeks away from going out to sea for the winter.
Baby seal

Seals

Seals(fur, elephant & leopard) were to be found on many of our landing sites.
