The Capital | Beijing, Forbidden City, Chairman Mao |
I stayed in Beijing for 3 months. Arrived in March, worked as an apprentice in a huge design company (which provided me with an apartment, a food-card and a symbolic salary) for 3 months and left in June to travel around China. So my experiences of Beijing are a bit different then just travelling. For example: I have no tips on cheap or nice accommodation in Beijing, but I can sure tell you about eating, drinking, partying and shopping in town. And about nice people and their way of life. Beijing has it all... |
| | Chinese characters In many parks in Beijing you can see peole writing on the paving with nothing but a brush and water. A poem, a rhyme or sometimes just a character written by a young girl learning to write. The water writing stays on the paving for couple of moments, then it dries out and leaves the place for another thought, impression, verse... |

| | Wind and plastic bags Windy spring in Beijing and no leaves and flowers yet... Beijing is a dusty dirty city, but it has it's charm, even when the plastic bags cover the treas instead of greenery... that's the view from my living room.... nice, isn't it?! |
