"Kuznica on the Hel Peninsula" Kuznica by evaanna

Kuznica Travel Guide: 20 reviews and 90 photos

Kuznica is a small fishing village next in line to Chalupy on the Hel Peninsula. There are a few more villages bearing the same name in Poland so be sure which one is of interest to you. The first written records of Kuznica come from 1570, but in 1663 it was still an island with just one cottage. Even now the peninsula becomes extremely narrow here, down to 250 metres at places, and yet the village has its own railway station, a church, a fishing port, a school, two or three shops and even a cemetery.
Kuznica consists of two parts: the 'centre' with all the amenities, and Siberia, so called I suppose because it's quite a long way from the main part. With Pucka Bay on one side and the Baltic and its beaches on the other, the village offers numerous opportunities for walks and sunbathing. There is a cycle track crossing Kuznica with marvellous views of the bay. The village is a nice place to stay in, even in summer, being a little less touristy than the other villages on the peninsula.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Sandy beaches on one side, the bay and a cycle track on the other, pinewood in the middle
  • Cons:Traffic jams on the way there in summer months
  • In a nutshell:A lovely little place with great views

The church at Kuznica looks appealing, and the beach must be fun when it is warm weather. I liked you pictures of working fishermen. This is a very good presentation

I know I would love this place Kuznica. Fishing boats, wonderful sunsets, beaches and esp. that great new promenade to walk along. Hans and I just got home from two week road trip to western U.S. Had a great time but still nice to be home.

Such a peaceful and pure place to relax and do some bird watching. We'll be looking for updates when you are back home..3rd trip? The peninsula reminds me of a smaller version of Cape Cod. (just an observation)

What a beautiful little village!! Again, I love the colourful Kashubian art and the Red Inn Restaurant, so picturesque :-) Yes, it must be fantastic to cycle all along the peninsula and stay here :-)
