"Poland the Great" a Poland Travel Page by evaanna

For people living far away Poland may be just a spot on the map, for me it's a large country with diverse geographic conditions: plains, hills and mountains, the seaside and the lakes. It has many many cities, towns and villages and a tragic past, the traces of which can be found everywhere. And it is my country. That is why I'd rather not put all these areas and places in one basket and, instead, create individual pages for the places I know best. I didn't really intend to write a general 'Poland' page at all - it just began to grow by itself. What you can find on this page, however, are phenomena that apply to the country and its people as a whole - some commonly observed customs, for instance. In addition, I am going to include here also those places that I know very little of and could not write a whole page about but that are worth mentioning for a special reason, e.g. the place is known for a good restaurant or an interesting monument. Those will be places that I only saw in passing, on my way somewhere else. The photo was taken near a tiny village, Kluki, in the north of Poland.
