Burlington Township, New Jersey

by Alice88 - last update: Sep 7, 2004

The newest place for young couples to move in NJ

I live in Burlington Township, New Jersey, USA. My husband and I bought our house here in May 2002. We were only together for a year at that time and we weren't even engaged. We found this area to be a new/up and coming popular area for young couples or families and much less expensive than anywhere in Mercer County. We also didn't want to go any further south since we both worked in Mercer County at the time. It is now September 2004 and one of the fastest growing townships in the state and we love living here. We've completely renovated our house and to us, its home. We live in a wonderful community and are close to the shore, Philly, New York (we head back up to Hamilton, Mercer County, NJ to hop the train to NY), and Atlantic City. We live a few blocks from Burlington Center, a fairly decent mall (that is until they got rid of The Gap), Regal Cinemas, 15 minutes from Moorestown Mall and Eastgate Square. We can catch our favorite rock bands in any of the venues in Philly just by riding over the Burlington/Bristol Bridge or in Camden at the Tweeter Center. There is a small zoo in Westampton which we love since they have some wolves and we have some nice local parks and walking trails we enjoy taking our dog to. There are new housing developments going up all over the area and some new shopping centers here and there as well. Its a nice area to live in and not loaded with traffic.

Pros:"Good for young couples and families"
Cons:"Close to Burlington City - not so nice area"
In A Nutshell:"A great place to start a life together and raise a family."
