I was walking around the city when I came across this souvenier shop.. Full of ships handicraft & it's cheap..

Bought a wall clock for only US$10 and some fridge magnets at 3 for US$1..

But I can't remember where are the shops.. It's somewhere near Hai Ba Trung..

Wherever you walk, you are bound to pass by some painting shops...

They are all painted by the locals and for a medium size piece, you can get about US$10..
Bought one painting of the Halong Bay to decorate my room.. Very nice piece.. They are very light so no worry about excess baggage :)

Bad experience....

I wanted to go Cholon Market cos of the abundant textiles.. yes, they have lots of shops selling textile ard the market but we reached ard 6pm so most the shops are closed... worst of all, they dont sell Vietnam Silk!!! All are China silk, Thai Silk, etc... But no Vietnam Silk!! Each set of Thai/China silk cost more than VND300k...

By the way, some of the vietnamese told us that cholon market closes at 9.30pm... Feel so cheated again... Abit pissed off actually...

Since most the shops were closed, I walked to the Cholon Market... About 10 mins walk..
This is a wholesaler.. they dont sell 1-2 piece items.. all items have to be bought in bulk i.e. 10 pieces or more... and they dont entertain you at all if you want to buy 1-2 pieces.. they will tell you to get lost... the vendors are very rude... They were closing when we arrived so even if u are interested to purchase something from them, they will not sell it to you cos they are busy packing!... #@$%^%&%...

believe it or not, there's no bargaining!! They will give you the "If you want, buy.. If not, pls go away" attitude...

It's such a wasted trip & I didnt buy anything... Pls note that Cholon Market is in Dictrict 5.. The cab fare cost me abt VND60k one way from District 1...
