We had such a great time in London. We did as much touristy things you can possibly do in 5 days.
Day 1. Firstly we went on the Hop on Hop off tour' on the red double decker bus to get our bearings of the city, this was a great way to see the sights. We went and saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace, checked out the Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, St Pauls Cathedral, London Eye (we didn't go on), Tower Bridge and the Tower of London...you get the idea. Later that night we went to the theatre and saw Saturday Night Fever, we could barely keep our eyes open from the jetlag, we probably only seen about half the show but what we saw was good. |

| | Day 2. We went to an Aussie pub the 'Walkabout' in Sheppards Bush to watch the State of Origin (Rugby League), which had an awesome atmosphere even though we (Qld) lost :( We then continued down to Oxford street and I got dragged around by the girls for hours in Harrods. We bought 4 chocolates in Harrods for about AU$5 but they tasted really good and a Harrods bag which cost about AU$43.
Day 3. The following day we went on the day tour out to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath. The Castle was beautiful, we went through some of the royals rooms. Then we went onto Stonehenge, they are only bigs rocks but what an awesome sight to see considering still nobody knows how they got there. After that we had a traditional pub lunch in a 700 year old pub and we headed onto the last stop in the picturesque city of Bath. Here we saw the Roman Baths which are still bubbling from the ground today as they were many years ago. |
Day 4. Next day we went to the British museum. There is so much to see inside this great museum, it is nearly impossible to see everything in a few hours or even a day. We walked right through the whole museum but we couldn't endure any more than what we saw in the few hours we spent inside, there's just too much to take in. That night we went and saw 'Sin City' in a cinema that was in walking distance from our hotel. It was the smallest cinema we have ever been in and it was stinking hot as the air-con was down. Next time we will check to make sure we go to a bigger cinema.
Day 5. We got up early and went to the Camden Markets....where they sell everything and anything you could think of. In the arfternoon we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and took heaps of photos with all the celebs...and they do look very alive it's scary.
There's still so much we didn't get to see, but for 5 days I think we did fairly well. | | | London- Thames and Big Ben |

deecat Thu Sep 6, 2007 02:45 UTC When my daughter lived in London for a year, I visited her, and we did many of the same activities. It's a vibrant city and you captured it well. Changing of the Guards photos are dynamic. Loved the wax museum photos, too. | Wann Sat Oct 29, 2005 10:57 UTC Nice page !! It's so great to be able to see and do many things just in 5 days in a big city as London. Thanks for sharing !!! |
