Theme: Golfing
The Gold Coast has over 30 golf courses to play on, ranging from the fun and cheap par 3 courses right up to numerous internationally designed layouts which rank amongst the best in the world. Game fees range from as little as $5 for 9 holes up to $175 for 18 holes on the top courses. I personally prefer the par 3 courses, they're alot cheaper and more fun. Par 3 and 9-Hole Courses: Carrara Gardens, Merrimac, Tallai Country, Tamborine Mountain, The Boomerang Farm

Horse racing is going from strength to strength on the Gold Coast with weekly meetings held at the Gold Coast Turf Club at Bundall every Saturday. In the second week of January every year the Gold Coast is the venue for the Magic Millions. It is ten days of carnival and society events surrounding the Magic Millions raceday. There is a choice of over a dozen separate bars, restaurants, cafes and bistros at the GC Turf Club. It is always a fun and entertaining day out for everyone. Also, at the Parklands Showground in Southport every Tuesday afternoon Harness racing and every Wednesday afternoon Greyhound racing is held.
