Buenos Aires

having only a couple of days here it was very much a case of get round as much as possible as quickly as possible. Had a trip to La Recoletta on market day, saw the tomb of Eva Peron. Then on to La Boca. Thought we could navigate our way there quite easily: we got the right road but the wrong direction and so sort of stood out like a sore thumb in the wrong end of town... Eventually made it to the Boca Juniors stadium and got a tour. Maradonna very much deity here with his own bronze statue and permanent display in the museum. Rounded off the trip here with a tango show in the evening, bit like Riverdance but for latinos. Having said that give the Gay Gordon anytime...

Uruguay

We have been in Colonia for a couple of days now and its completely different to BA. Very laid back traditional town although still very touristy. Just had a wander round town yesterday and had a few beers watching the sunset. Today we are off to a gaucho farm a la City Slickers then on to Montevideo in the evening. The farm was fantastic! Fair enough i didnt come half way round the world to watch them make milk and cheese but the hospitality was really good and the lunch they prepared was huge, defimiteńy the best steak i have had since arriving.

So after a lovely few days in Colonia thing started to go a bit down hill for Uruguay. Montevideo is a bit of a hole with not much to do at all. Only pics i got were in the bar when we all went out for dinner one night. a 6 hr bus ride to salto went by quite quickly, the buses are very luxurious belive it or not. Salto was billed as a "spa" resort as they have natural hot springs here. By spa resort though they mean 1960 communist russia sanitarium!
One more day in the "spa" resort then 13 hr bus journey to the Iguasu falls on the Argentinian/Brazil border.

Loving your City despite the chilly winds, headed to the highlands for a few days, then respite of sunday before returning home; How about a VT midday gettogether on Royal Mile or your recommendation ;-)))
