Province "Etelä-Suomen Lääni"

Southern Finland is the most populated area in Finland. The definition of Southern Finland is volatile, but the province of "Etelä-Suomen Lääni" is well defined. 40% of Finland's population is there.
It streteches from Tammisaari on the Southwestern coast to Lappenranta in East, and up to Hämeenlinna region in the North.

The capital town of the province is Hämeenlinna (population 47000) by the northern perimeter, while the major city is Helsinki (population 559000), the capital of Finland. Next biggest towns are Espoo (pop. 221 000) and Vantaa (pop. 184 000) just next to Helsinki.
