Seattle is a captivating city full of beauty. The geography is amazing offering views of Mt. Rainier, the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, sandy beaches and a city sky line. Seattle offers great shopping, delicious restaurants, local art, a colorful farmer?s market, street performers, sailing opportunities, hiking, parks to relax in and the list goes on and on.
During my week visit to Seattle I was blessed with only two days of drizzle. The locals educated me that Seattle does not receive the most rainfall in America, but actually more Midwestern and Eastern states experience more rainfall in a year than this city. I did hear that Seattle has many cloudy days and the weather is unpredictable, but don?t let this keep you from visiting this Pacific Northwest city.
The locals are friendly and very colorful. In the downtown area I was entertained by self proclaimed street performers ranging from magicians to fiddle players. I loved listening to the music and felt that it gave the city a unique feeling. Many sold CD?s and took money offerings. Locals were eager to give suggestions of activities to participate in and were very friendly. I felt very welcomed by the city of Seattle!
Just a note: The day we were leaving for Seattle there was a snowstorm in Minneapolis delaying out plane for eight hours! It was still worth it.
The space needle gives you an incredible view of the city.
- Pros:scenery, people, amount to do
- Cons:cloudy days, hills and traffic

Lots of great information here -- and also very entertaining. I especially like your food tips. Glad to see Seattle has a great breakfast joint. Will keep that in mind if I ever have the good fortune of visiting.
