Dana has one of the most beautiful and unspoiled mountain landscapes in Jordan, and a spectacular village perched on the edge of a deep and precipitous gorge, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon. It is rich in wildlife and one of the best places to watch birds, especially during Spring and Autumn migrations.
There is a wide variety of hiking trails, from short, one-hour circuits to day-hikes requiring an overnight stop. All trails offer spectacular views and rock formations and some pass important archaeological sites, including the ancient copper mining centre of Feinan. The campsites and guest house are equally in spectacular locations and are places to relax and enjoy the scenery and peace and quiet. Shuttle buses provide transport to the campsites and there is a visitor centre where you can see local crafts being made. Trained guides are available for all tours.
The reserve lies 200 kilometers south of the capital Amman and 50 kilometers north of Petra , about 2 hours from Amman and Aqaba .

The stone-built guest house lies hundreds of meters above the edge of Wadi Dana, offering breath-taking views of the reserve. It has nine comfortably furnished rooms with private terraces (5 double, 3 triple and one with 4-beds) and serves traditional Arabic food. Also there are facilities for workshops and conferences.
There are two campsites in the reserve, one in the high lands near the eastern edge called Rummana, and one in the lowlands near the western edge called Feinan. Both offer large tents with mattresses, blankets and pillows, sleeping up to 4 people per tent. There are toilets, showers and barbecue grills. Meals can be provided for groups over 6 people. Rummana is open from 1st of March to the 1st of November and accommodates a maximum of 60 people per night. Feinan is open all year round and accommodates 40 people per night. On the other hand, new development will take place and by the end of the year 2002 a new resort will be established.
