Les Menuires is located in Les 3 Vallees along with Val Thorens, Meribel and Coucheval.
It is by far the cheapest resort of the three to stay in but you are still connected to the 600km of piste and 200 chair lifts.
This was my 7th year of skiing and as usual the first three days are spent wondering why I'm so unfit and the last three days pretending to be a snow goddess.
I still have no technique and look like a panicked penguin, but hey, it's fun.
This is a view over La Croisette to the mountain called La Masse. The blue ski run is called Vallons and has a fantastic expanse of ice just outside the restaurant. I'm sure it is a ploy by the restaurant staff to encourage you in. After tumbling into a heap of boarders who have suffered the same fate what better than a nice cup of coffee ?
