We flew from Seattle, WA to Victoria in a tiny seaplane that seated about six people. We took off from a lake in Seattle and arrived in Victoria about 30 minutes later. Besides the beautiful harbor full of pleasure boats, the majestic Empress Hotel covered in ivy catches the eye as you approach Victoria. The Empress stands regally beyond the docks and is the center piece surrounded by expansive grassed areas, gardens, streets lined with trees & lampposts with gigantic hanging baskets of flowers. The small downtown area is full of interesting shops, but to me the real diamond is a few miles away: Butchart Gardens. |

I've been to Victoria and really enjoyed it here. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go to the Butchart Gardens. I wish I had! Reading your page makes me realize what I missed! I do hope I get a second chance one day to visit them :-) |
