"Rome: Big, Busy, Beautiful, Friendly" Rome by Sandi-2004
Rome Travel Guide: 14,030 reviews and 24,808 photos
Coming into Rome after being in Florence, the Tuscany countryside, & Siena was like moving into a whirlwind of activity. The city is large & the traffic is fast. We stayed at a small hotel on the 3rd floor of a large building on a quiet street near the Piazza della Repubblica. On the corner and on the Piazza which had a beautiful fountain in the center, we found good restaurants for breakfast. The owners of the hotel made us feel at home &, immediately, in such a large city, we had our little neighborhood of friendly people.
- Pros:A very exciting city with overwhelmingly awesome sites.
- Cons:None
- In a nutshell:Everything is bigger & more amazing than you would imagine.

Another great city Sandi. Very interesting well written tips People watching at an outdoor cafe is so relaxing :-)!
I love your photos from St.Peter's, those and your glowing descriptions have convinced me to add Rome to my wish list! Happy New Year!
Hi Sandi, exellent openings picture, good page, greetings Alphons...
Well done Sandi. Great pictures, good descriptions. Will look into the B&B you describe. Thanks for your visit. Pa
I agree with karenincalifornia, Sandi. Rome has always left me wanting more, too.
Your photos are outstanding. I'm so impressed with how well your pictures of St. Peter's came out. So much better than mine! I loved my trip to Rome last summer. I was there for only 5 days, but I could have spend 91 days there and still wanted more!
Your opening shot of Piazza San Pietro was terrific, obviously later in the afternoon, early evening. Beats my own easily. Good tips!
Lovely Rome page !
