Coming into Rome after being in Florence, the Tuscany countryside, & Siena was like moving into a whirlwind of activity. The city is large & the traffic is fast. We stayed at a small hotel on the 3rd floor of a large building on a quiet street near the Piazza della Repubblica. On the corner and on the Piazza which had a beautiful fountain in the center, we found good restaurants for breakfast. The owners of the hotel made us feel at home &, immediately, in such a large city, we had our little neighborhood of friendly people. |
