I am Monique and I'm from the Netherlands. I have been a stewardess for some time with Lufthansa and KLM (from 1988 till 1995). During that time I had a lot of opportunities to see the world. A few whishes I had since my childhood came true: the Taj Mahal, the wall in China and the pyramids in Egypt and Mexico. My favourite city became New York. But most of all I enjoyed nature and the different cultures. One of the highlights for me was staying with the Ibans in the rainforrest on Borneo.
Since I quit working as a stewardess I kept on travelling but unfortunately not so often anymore.
I try to go at least once a year to a country or place where I never have been before. The last years I went to Costa rica, Mexico, New Zealand, Italy, Iceland, Maledives, La Gomera and La Palma (Canary islands), Greece. I lived in Amsterdam for 12 years and I still try to go there as often as I can. I know the city very well and that's why I will put as many nice tips as possible here about Amsterdam. Since January 2008 I live in The Marches (central Italy). Here you still find the "real Italy".
