Philadelphia- a skyline & a city full of art work

Isn't it magnificant ??? Nice downtown sky line

Wonderful architecture elements everywhere...
A view from downtown, you can find many skyscrapers & landmarks. If you walk around the area, you find tons of sculptures too.
The best guide line of travel information is here at http://www.gophila.com
you will find it very useful.
My trip started by taking Long Island Railroad from Bayside Station to Penn Station for 25 mins. Then I took a 2 hour BOLT BUS (a new Grey Hound spin off commuter bus) from NYC to Philadelphia. That was my lucky day that everything was on time & on schedule, no hassle what so ever. I got off at 30th St & Market St in Philly & took the Septa Line at 30st station. Its easy to make a day trip back & forth from NYC to Philly in a day.
Am I in Philly or Europe ???

Swann Memorial Fountain

Swann Memorial Fountain is in the center of Logan Square. The lively fountain sculptures are made by Alexander Stirling Calder & it was designed with architect Wilson Eyre. The fountain memorializes Dr. Wilson Cary Swann, founder of the Philadelphia Fountain Society.
According to gophia site, The fountain design concept adapt the tradition of “river god” sculpture, Calder created large Native American figures to symbolize the area’s major local waterways: the Delaware River (a man), the Schuylkill River (a woman) and Wissahickon Creek (a girl).

Frogs, turtles, a fish and two swans — puns on the name of Dr. Wilson Cary Swann, the fountain’s namesake — complete the group.

For a moment, I thought I was in Europe with this kind of fountain. It was a very warm day, and I see a lot of kids playing with the water inside the fountain.
Bet. Broad St and Market St, just look up

The 27-ton statue of William Penn atop City Hall

Mon - Fri, Guided tours available at 12:30 p.m.; Tower Observation Deck open Mon - Fri, 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. For tours and tower admission go to Room 121.
From far away, I saw the statue of the man with something stuck out in the lower middle part. I was thinking what was that ???? Then when i get my zoom lens, I realized it was his hand stretching out & pointing at something .....

Pros:"Franklin Benjamin Pkwy is a work of art & best part of Philly"
Cons:"Beware of subways safety & homeless people at corners"
In A Nutshell:"Its like NYC in a way but of course my NYC is a BIGGER FISH !"
