Punjab

Chopped cattle feed at Punjabi dairy farm
Punjab is inhabited by several different sects of Indians, but is a major location of the Sikh population. I was visiting farms in rural Punjab and took these pictures.

Fueling the economy

Cattle are sacred in India. It is against the law to kill a cow. Life in India is greatly dependent on these animals. Cows provide high quality nutients through milk. Bullocks provide work and transport. All cattle provide manure, which is the primary fuel and fertilizer used by India's rural people.
