(Joon-shan) or Shekki, town. Population in 1994 estimated 341,000. Located in south Guangdong province, SE China. it is situated on Zhongshan Island also known as Macau Island and has sugar refineries.
It is famous as the birthplace of Dr Sun Yat-Sen. The name also features and Chun-Shan.
To get to Zhongshan take a 1 hr modern ferry ride from Hong Kong or you can travel via Macau and taxi. |
|  | Yat-Sen Lake Park is located in the busiest commercial centre in Central Zhongshan. It is adjacent to Hubin Road to the east and nearby Yandun Hill to the south.
Contains over 100 species of plants with southern china characteristics including ancient yacca which is several hundred years old. |
