Use the horse to move around

When in Qena city you will find different modes of transportation. I would prefer the cart with horses so you can enjoy the ride while moving from a place to another.
It cost so little.
You can also use the micro bus or a private taxi that will alos charge you a little if comapred to Europe.
In Egypt you dont call for a Taxi but rather wait in the streets and wave for any taxi driver who will stop and ask you first about your destination and might start to bargain for a price.

A plane to Qena

If you dont want to waste time on travelling then book your plane tickets to luxor. From luxor which is 1 hour away from Cairo by plane, you will take a car or train from luxor city to Qena city which will take another 1 hour.

If you are in hurghada and want to reach Qena, then book your bus tickets with El Guna bus comany.
Another option is to contact your tour operator or your hotel reception or any travel agent to get you there with a group. Your driver needs to inform the tourist police about his destinations cause forigners have to move within a secured convoy that passes through specific villages that are unsafe.
