Alex is a long history If you have read in my homepage about the mosaic of cultures, then Alexandria (ALEX) is the center of that mosaic. Due to its location on the meditranean facing cyprus, greece and italy then it was very common some 10s of years ago that you find a big italian or greek community traveling to Alex to live and work there and have then stayed till 3 and 4 generations. Armenians and other nationalities are also in that mixture of people.
Due to its less populated areas, people of Alexandria are less tensed than those in Cairo. The city looks cleaner than cairo due to its location on the sea.
Most Egyptians spend their summer holidays there and in its extension that is called the north coast.
Alexandria is 2 hours away from Cairo.
They have very nice sea food restaurants. |

sarrahh Fri Aug 5, 2005 06:19 UTC Alexandria, a7san nas 3al bahr mashia titmakhtar ;) | dmnkeeper Tue Aug 2, 2005 19:22 UTC Strange, Montazah Sheraton Hotel let a one double bed room out to me for $250. Shocking. Besides it was late June and the Kuwaiti women had misgivings about my 'profession'. Worst service and worst attitude I had ever experienced at a hotel in my life. | uglyscot Mon Jun 20, 2005 11:39 UTC Interesting to find out what an Egyptian really thinks, and you can give good tips that those who live in cairo take for granted. Useful. | Levente_D Tue Feb 1, 2005 09:58 UTC When you are in Rome you're still a visitor ... ;-) and you can not do everithing as they do otherwise we would be all the same! |
