My neighborhood

Lived in a sweet flat in London in the early 80's for 2 years. I had the upstairs flat in a four flat house. A quiet neighborhood with a small pub around the corner and a high street just 10 mins away for all your shopping needs. I saw 85 bands in concert when I lived there. I was at Live Aid, yep...right up front...5 rows back. Queen ruled that day, unforgettable. London is a great city for theatre, pubs, markets, concerts, live music, and Indian FOOD. I worked in the city center so I was around that area daily. I went back a few years later and you couldn't find an English speaking person working down town. The weather is like rainy, little sun, foggy. Great access to the European continent which I visited as often as I could. Loved London dearly.

Downtown

I worked right downtown London. This is Bond Street right by Selfridges department store around xmas. It was busier than usual. In the time that I was there the dollar was worth TWICE as much as it is today, 20 years ago this was.

Greenford High Street

A typical shopping street in the surrounding areas of London. Each area of London has a "high street". I found out that not many Londonders actually go downtown very often. This is where they shop for their everyday needs.

Wow, you were a Live Aid rep! I was a student at London University, so I went to a lot of gigs, but not the greatest ever: Live Aid. You must have great memories from that: the Woodstock of the 80s.
