Spezial Keller Beer garden and other Bamberg, Germany Things to Do Tips

This was a superb beer garden with a fantastic view of the city. There was also a very good 7 piece country band playing. The beer is fantastic, try the Lager Rauschbier that is poured out of wooden kegs.

Directions: Take a taxi, it's way way up a hill. Open: Tues-Sat: 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Sun 10 am-11 pm, closed Monday. Beergarden is closed in colder weather.

This is a really nice beer garden. It is very very large. Hard to believe it isn't open year around since it's sooo huge. You can see some far off views of old architecture that are all lit up at night, so gorgeous. They look like ghosts. There is a large playground but we were on the opposite side so we didn't see it. We had the Schlenkerla smoked Rauchbier lager. It was a bit too smoky for us. Rogue ales had a smoked beer that was a bit over the top for us also. This beer was like that. It would be good in a marinade.
