Accomodations are very hard to find in Bamberg especially in August. We luckily got a room at the last minute in this hostel. We checked in and the price was 38 euro for the two of us for a private room. The room was up one flight and it had bunk beds and a sink. There is a closet with 2 keys that you can lock your stuff up. It is 2 euro to lock it up. The bathroom was around the corner and the showers are up one flight of stairs. There is also a large community type bathroom downstairs. I didn't check either out. We only stayed one night. The breakfast was included and consisted of eggs, bread, meat, cheese, cheese spread, butter, jam, etc... It's buffet style Your table is reserved with your name on it when you go down. There isn't much parking next to the hostel but we were able to park along the path. It's a narrow road next to the river and hard to turn around on.
Unique Qualities: It's very clean and has an outdoor garden and upstairs there is a small patio with 4 tables. It overlooks the river and is very quiet and calm. Many familes were staying there. You can get a tea or a beer from reception. There are also vending machines with beverages and ice cream treats. Just down the path there is miniature golf and a beer garden at a larger hotel.
