Raschbier Capitol of the World We went to Bamberg for one night to drink beer, period. We had been trying to get reservations for various weekends at various breweries that have rooms with no luck. So we stayed at a youth hostel. It was a ways out so we just took a cab straight to the top of the hill and went to Spezial Keller. Their Raschbier was phenomenal. It came straight out of a barrel. The smoke flavor was not overpowering. The place was packed and a good country band started up right before we left. |
|  | Mahrs Keller Tap house This beer garden was very very laid/cozy back with a large yard behind it. We had only one beer here. The food did not look very good so we decided to pass and move on. |

| | Spezial Brewery Here is Jeff buying two kegs of Rauschbier to take home. Actually he went back in and bought a bunch more beer. They only cost 12 euro apiece. What a deal, cold too. So, we put them in our padded cooler bag, hit two more breweries for beer and headed home. |

Good tips for this beautiful city. Rauchbeer is very different from the usual Pils, I liked it, my husband didn't.He prefers Pils. I'm looking forward to you other tips later. |
