"An island to visit!!!" Ilha da Berlenga by crisportugal
Ilha da Berlenga Travel Guide: 40 reviews and 78 photos
Ilha da Berlenga has an emerald sea colour and it is a huge sauvage place everyone should see.
Is protected area only few people live there. There's a small restaurant wich has 6 rooms where one can stay and some houses (3 - private) but not to rent.
At 1 o'clock lights off!
The pousada - on an ancient fortress has 10 rooms.. and a wc for all. .....
Their management is done by a so called "friends of Berlenga" wich gave them a kind of absolute moral power of not even question why are they in charge.........
I still don't know details but someone on the group talked about a XVII construction. Is so beautiful - build on a rock in one of the islands creeks, conects through a sort of high roman bridge in perfect arches. The stones are brown/red. And you dream on whose lives were lived there?
On another creek you have a 70 mts tall cave that looks like a gotic nave: masses are prayed there and you couldn't think on a more perfect place to do it.
Don't go around the island without a person that truly knows it: Its a high sea place where is not wise to play. You may pass trough caves from a creek to another but only the experts know if it is ok to do it or not.
- Pros:Emerald sea coloured with small beaches............
- Cons:Should be better ruled
