Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: I know this tip tends to be a little generic for any trip you take but whether visitng New York for a day and especially if staying longer never would I say this is more a neccesity than in NY were it seems you are walking everywhere. Even if you say you will take transit or cabs throw in a day touring Central Park where this type of transportation is unavailable to you and you will certainly need them. REMEMBER:Just having new shoes is not the same thing, I made this mistake on a trip to London and will now make sure to wear them at least a few hours to ensure the fit is correct
