As a great side trip from the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas I made the day long trip (roughly 5 hours one way with very liberal stops) to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The questions to the answer you most likely are asking is it was absolutely worth the trip and I would do it again. The Grand Canyon is one of those places that meets and exceeds all your notions. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen (which is an admitedly small sample).
One thing I was not prepeared for during my April visit was just how cold it could be (it was in the high 30's low 40's with snow on the ground). |
