"Temiscaming" Temiscaming by Kaspian

You can't write about Temiscaming without mentioning Tembec and the smokestacks. This small town was established in 1921 and is almost entirely dependent on the pulp and paper industry. The mill converts logs into giant piles of wood chips and on a warm day the entire surrounding area smells of sawdust. The town itself is actualy quite pretty--nestled on a hillside, designed on the "garden city" concept.

So, Why Temiscaming?

Temiscaming sits on Highway #63, which is on the way to my parents' cottage. It's where we always stop to stock up on suplies (hotdogs, coffee, and beer) before heading into the bush for a few days.
