"Who's On Bighton Pier"! Beautiful seaside community or not, I knew what I'd really made the trip to Brighton to see! OK, the geek kernel down inside me began quivering with excitement when my companion pointed out the banner to me when we set foot off the train. When I first heard about this exhibit months ago back in Canada, I never, ever, thought I would be in England, let alone actually get the chance to see it. I have to give her credit though, after a whole week of me not saying exactly why we had to include Brighton in our one week tour of Scotland and England, she handled the surprise news very well. But she also had to reassure herself, "You didn't secretly plan this whole trip all the way to the UK just for this, did you?" Me: "Ummm.... no?" Note to women: Never underestimate a man's sneakiness when it comes to sci-fi. |
But the Colours, the Colours! Even though I had ulterior motives for being in this town, I'm so glad that we made the trek! Brighton is picturesque, beautiful. The pastel colors of everything seem reminiscent of a time long past... maybe those of the"Roaring 20s"? |
