Escuain - My namesake

I couldn't resist in doing a small review of the town and region that is my also my surname :) I've been trekking around the place three times.

The tiny and mostly ruined town of Escuain is located between the towns of Aínsa and Bielsa, in the northern part of Aragon's Huesca province, encapsulated into the mountains, surrounded by gorges and cliffs and bordering the Ordesa-Monte Perdido National Park.

Photos taken by «nadiavto». HERE you will find a great seleccion of his Escuain photos.

Gargantas de Escuain (Escuain gorges)

Escuain, together with the Escuain valley and Escuain gorges of the river Yaga, are truly a trekker, mountain climbing and cave exploration paradise!

Not only Escuain, of course, but the whole region is fantiastic in it's naturalistic value.

Ruined town - NOT!

The ruins of Escuain are in a way very attractive. Nowadays, with a paved road leading to the town there are some old houses getting restored for vacationing, and there's even an experimental solar plant of the Aragonese government.
