Money Ain't a Thing

The Strip on New Year's 2005
What can you say about Vegas? The motto of... what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas is definitely true.

For world class travellers, it's not exactly a global destination. But, it's a fun getaway for us Los Angelenos.

That said, it's changed a lot in recent years. It's become a lot more than just gambling, drinking, and lounge shows.

The nightclub scene has boomed and it seems like every hotel has a nightclub. If you're into clubs, RA at Luxor is okay, Mandalay Bay's Foundation Room is awesome - if you can get in. The Palms has Ghostbar, which has an amazing view. Hard Rock Hotel is great for 20-somethings, but Club Baby's is kinda getting weak.

If you're into lounging by the pool all day, the Mirage has a great pool. Mandalay Bay's pool is huge, but really more for kids.

The Bellagio is over-rated. It's for the rich... and only rich. Personally, I like Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace. TI and Mirage are also cool.

If you haven't been to Vegas, you gotta stroll down the Strip at night to see all the lights and the crazy, drunk people.

My favorite hotel to stay at is THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay. It's a new, hip hotel that's more like a New York hotel.
Party people

More from New Year's

Look at all the happy people. Is it the booze, the views or just because it's Vegas?

Pros:"Let go of all your problems, it's Vegas!"
Cons:"Sleep deprivation, loss of money"
In A Nutshell:"The motto of the city really rings true"
