Brittany: A Pleasant Change of Pace from Paris

Coasts, Forts and Friends

Coastline at Cap Frehel
The only reason we went to Brittany (Bretagne) in the first place was to visit my friend's sister's husband's best friend and his wife. I was in love with Paris, so it was kind of hard to leave it. But once we got going and seeing the wondrous coastline and forts and towns of Brittany, I loved it just as much.

It was a vastly different trip from the huge metropolis that Paris is. And that was just fine. I had barely been sleeping in Paris. Brittany was so peaceful that I caught up on sleep. To me, that means 6 or 7 hours a night so it wasn't like I was wasting my time asleep.

This trip also included stops at the Chateauxs in Loire Valley, but that will be told in the Pays de la Loire log.

Christophe and Delphine were our French hosts. They spoke really great English and we had a blast hanging out with them. If not for them, we wouldn't have seen any of the great sites we did. After all, they had a car.

Pros:"Beautiful coastline and great small towns"
Cons:"My dark skin got some strange glances"
In A Nutshell:"For a break from the hustle and bustle of Paris, Bretagne stands tall on its own"
