The Grand Canal: A Surreal Experience | The incomparable Grand Canal |
Travelling down the Grand Canal (on a Vaparetto) is a surreal experience. It's absolutely incredible looking at all the old palaces.
Venice is a wonderful city. It's small and there are absolutely NO CARS. Coming from traffic-impacted Los Angeles, that is like going to Heaven. |
| | Getting lost Renowned travel writer Rick Steves mentioned to "get lost" in the winding city streets since it's practically an island and you can't get lost. Well, I did. You'd think it would be easy to find the Grand Canal to get your bearings, but I managed to get lost. Still, it's VENICE... so who cares? |
