City of Lights was Fantastique What can you say about Paris that hasn't been said before? Not much. So, you'll read a lot of gushing praise about one of the world's best cities from me, too. Still, I'm sure I had a lot of experiences that would be new to some folks.
Put in perspective, I was travelling on a relatively low budget and seeing Paris for the first time. My goals were to see all the major museums and monuments and then relax and enjoy the cafe culture. I also was interested in seeing Hemingway's old haunts where he and a bunch of other writers lived, worked and hung out. I hope some of the ghosts followed me so I can inherit some of their writing ability. In addition, you can't talk about ghosts without talking about famous artists. Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Renoir, etc... all called Paris home at some point. Breathe the air and you breathe art and history and culture. |
